Go to King Hussain Bridge

To get to the West Bank from Jordan, you must first go to King Hussain Bridge, the only official border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan. The King Hussain Bridge is different from Al sheik Hussian in the north, so take care that you know which one you are traveling to. You have two options to get there.

The first and cheaper option you have is to take a taxi from anywhere in Amman to the Tabar Bour (the central bus and taxi station in Amman). From the Tabar Bour you would then take a shared taxi to King Hussein Bridge for between 5 to 6 JD.

The second option is to take any private taxi from anywhere in Amman and tell him that you would like to go straight to King Hussain Bridge; it should cost you between 15 to 20 JD (do not pay more than 20 JD).

At the Israeli borders

At the Israeli borders, they will check you and may stop you for a couple of hours to complete this process. The most important thing is to be relaxed and not act nervous โ€“ remember, this is a normal process in this region that everyone must go through. Officials at the border will ask you questions about your intended travel, so be prepared with answers to why you would like to go there, what you plan to do, where you plan to stay and go, etc. Simply answer honestly about your journey to West Bank, Palestine, and tell them that you will go to Hebron and of course you will go to Israel to have a vacation and visit different cities there.

When you arrive at the border crossing, you have to pay 10 JD to exit stamp; many people there speak English and will help you when needed.

Get a 3 month visa

After that, you will get a 3 month visa. After you finish with everything at the Israeli borders, just ask for the bus that goes to Jericho (Palestinian borders) as opposed to any bus to Jerusalem or somewhere else. This bus will drop you off in Jericho, and in Jericho you will see many taxies which go to different Palestinian cities around the West Bank.

Welcome to Palestine

If you are coming to our organization, Travel to Palestine, ask a taxi to go to Hebron and you will pay 50 NIS. Tell the driver you will go to ุนูŠู† ุณุงุฑุฉ Ain Sara (the main street) across from Al-Hussein Secondary School (madrasat-al-Hussein Ben Ali al-thanawieh ู…ุฏุฑุณุฉ ุงู„ุญุณูŠู† ุจู† ุนู„ูŠ ุงู„ุซุงู†ูˆูŠุฉโ€ซ

When you are there (or in the taxi), just call Ms. Marwa Shantir at 0598090798 (this is another mobile phone which you can call in case of emergency: 0597840984) and she will come to meet and welcome you in Hebron (or ask the taxi driver to call the number and we will tell him exactly where to drop you off).

Final remarks

Traveling from Jordan to West Bank, Palestine is significantly longer, and it involves the likelihood of lengthy delays โ€“ several hours possibly โ€“ at the Allenby/King Hussein Bridge. Please be prepared for this! We will be there to welcome you when you reach Hebron.
